Creating Links in your LMS
Each ICE video has a URL which is unique to the video and your college or university. Copy the video URL from your browser and use the instructions below to insert it into your LMS.
Students will need to log in to view ICE videos unless using IP authentication. They will not have access to change the password or access faculty resources in the Faculty Zone.
Blackboard
Highlight the text you want to hyperlink Click the Insert/Edit Link button [1] (it looks like a chain link).
A new window will appear. In the “Link Path” box, paste in the ICE Video URL you copied from your browser [2].
Choose the Open in New Window (_blank) option from the “Target” menu [3].
Click the Insert button at the bottom of the window [4].
Click Submit to share your work [5].
Canvas
Open the New Rich Content Editor.
Click the Links icon [1]. Click the External Links option [2].
Note: To view the Links icon, you may have to click the Options icon [3].
Enter the text for your hyperlink in the Text field [4].
Paste the URL for the ICE Video in the Link field [5].
Click the Done button [6].
Alternatively, you can create external hyperlinks using keyboard shortcuts. After adding content in the New Rich Content Editor, select the text for your hyperlink. Then press Cmd+K (Mac keyboard) or Ctrl+K (PC Keyboard).
Moodle
You can add link to an ICE Video by choosing URL from the Add a resource drop down menu in your course.
The Adding a new URL screen will ask for a link Name [1] and Description [2] (which may be required or optional according to the admin settings).
In the Content box [3], paste the URL for the ICE Video.
D2L
On the navbar, click Course Admin.
Click Links.
On the Manage Links page, click New Link [1].
Do one of the following:
To add your link to an existing category, from the Category drop-down list, select a category [2].
To add your link to a new category, click New Category. Enter your category details. Click Save [3].
Enter a title for your link [4].
In the URL area [5], paste the URL for the ICE Video in the field provided.
Click Save.
