Jan Davis Passes the Baton

Jan Davis passes the baton and moves into a mentoring role!

Jan Davis, MS, OTR/L is retiring after a long and distinguished career spanning nearly five decades as an occupational therapist, clinical educator, and creator of case-based videos that have trained thousands of clinicians and improved patient care worldwide.

Jan understands the power of video for teaching and learning. In 1983, she founded International Clinical Educators (ICE) and became known for her innovative workshops utilizing real patient videos filmed in actual treatment settings.

In 2009, the ICE Video Library was launched - the first of its kind in OT and PT education, providing much needed access to real patient treatments. As new technologies emerge, ICE continues to create much-needed resources for students and faculty. Jan is excited to pass the baton to Amanda Giles and will continue to provide mentorship to facilitate growth in ICE.

Amanda Giles takes the lead as President and Chief Innovation Officer!

Amanda Giles, OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA is devoted to developing new patient videos, an electronic documentation learning system, and faculty resources that align with evidence-based practice and accreditation standards.

In addition to her role with ICE, Amanda Giles is a tenured Associate Professor and OTD Assistant Program Director at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) with over 16 years of teaching experience. She is the recipient of the AOTA Emerging and Innovative Practice Award 2018, MUSC Educator of the Year 2022, and MUSC Innovator of the Year 2019.
