Founded in 1983, International Clinical Educators (ICE) is known for innovative streaming video collections of real patients and therapists. ICE was created to inspire clinical excellence for faculty, students and clinicians in occupational therapy and physical therapy programs. All videos are professionally filmed and feature actual patients and clinicians demonstrating practical and effective treatment ideas. Over 500 colleges and universities currently use ICE Videos in their curriculum.
Amanda K. Giles, OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA
President and Chief Innovation Officer
Amanda’s passion for innovative learning experiences and faculty professional development brings opportunities for growth within ICE. She is devoted to developing new patient videos, an electronic documentation learning system, and faculty resources that align with evidence-based practice and accreditation standards.
In addition to her role with ICE, Amanda is a tenured Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) with over 17 years of teaching experience. She is the author of two educational mobile apps and recipient of the AOTA Emerging and Innovative Practice Award, AOTA Roster of Fellows, MUSC Educator of the Year, and MUSC Innovator of the Year.
Amanda currently serves on the AOTA Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Leadership Team and was the Chair for the published AOTA Occupational Therapy Curriculum Design Framework – available via AJOT. Click here to view Amanda’s CV.
Brittany Seneshen
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Brittany oversees the development, maintenance, and communication of technology for customers and vendors to help improve operations. Prior to ICE, Brittany had 8 years of experience working in the tech industry at IBM in Melbourne, Australia. This, along with her expertise in graphic & instructional design, has helped ICE continue to provide state-of-the-art videos and resources for university programs. Brittany has a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science with a Neuroscience concentration from the University of California San Diego.
Jan Davis, MS, OTR/L
Founder
Jan’s distinguished career spans nearly five decades as an occupational therapist, clinical educator, and creator of case-based videos that have trained thousands of clinicians and improved patient care worldwide.
Jan understands the power of video for teaching and learning. In 1983, she founded International Clinical Educators (ICE) and became known for her innovative workshops utilizing real patient videos filmed in actual treatment settings. In 2009, the ICE Video Library was launched - the first of its kind in OT and PT education, providing much needed access to real patient treatments.
Jan continues to provide mentorship to facilitate growth in ICE.
